Need Your Input guys
Hey guys, I currently own a 13' v6 and I am desperate for a V-8. Now this is my dilemma, whould you guys rather get an s550 5.0 (in about a year once they get cheaper) or a 13-14 5.0 and with the money you save invest it into a set of nice coil-overs and exhaust system (maybe even a watts-link if the budget allows it)? How much better do you guys think the S550 will handle in comparison with a coil-over equipped S197. Yes the S197 has a a live rear axle, but through experience my v6 with the performance package handles just great. Yes its no German suspension and it does get a bit sketchy when you hit a bump mid corner, but for the most part its handle like a dream.
So what do you guys think?

If you want handling then get the S550. If you get a 13-14 they won't be all that much cheaper than the 15, and adding all the suspension to make them handle well will easily make them cost more than the 15.

I would wait and get an S550 (assuming you like the way it looks.) It is- in every way, shape and form- a better car than S197. And S197 wasn't a bad car.
S197 with the right equipment handles great on a smooth track. having driven both on the road, S550 is just way, way more pleasant on uneven/bumpy pavement. The live axle on S197 just jiggles and clomps around if the road isn't perfectly flat.
Yes the S197 has a a live rear axle, but through experience my v6 with the performance package handles just great.

Have you researched the s550 at all? Irs, New front suspension, goes around a track a second faster than the boss did.... I'm pretty sure it rides nicer and handles better. If you are taking a drag strip then yes, it isn't as suited for that because the 2014 has a live rear axle, but one did pull off a 12.86 @107mph in the past week so it isn't too shabby there either.

Does the S550 ride nicer? Yes.
Handle better around a track? No.
