I am a complete n00b when it comes to the "juice". Is something like the zex kit that brenspeed posted about safe for your car if you really dont want engine damage? In other words if it is done right, will something go wrong only in a "freak" accident.

another thing, what is ford going to say when i bring my car in for an oil change? if they see that it is on there will they remember so that next time I come back for some sort of engine issue will they be able to point me to the door even if the system is taken out?

Please give me some details on bottle feeding my baby!!

thanks

i use my n2o all the time. have been expirmenting with different size jets than what came with the kit to fine tune. now that there is a colder plug out, i am going to try the biggest shot. dont worry about hurting your motor. you will put a hurting on your tires though. also, this kit goes on in a couple of hours, so if you have to take it to the dealership, just un-install the kit then put it back on. and yes you really need a tune for it. they say you can run it without one, but i wouldnt try it. get the tune and you will have no problems.

I've made probably 20+ passes with the Zex kit in my V6... 1/2 of them with the 100HP jets... The key is to take it slow, get a good dyno tune just to double check the A/F and run good gas...

Different dealership will react differently... My dealership it totally cool... they can't wait until i bring my car in for an oil change so they can see what I've done to the car since the last time it was in! LOL!

Ok, I had a problem with my Throttle Position Sensor right after I installed the Zex... (which taps into the TPS wire). I took the car in... Had my MMR CAI on, the Zex completely installed in plain sight including the wire tapped into the TPS, a helmet in the back seat (which the service writer pointed out!) and the numbers were still on the windshield from the track... Tech simply pulled the trouble codes... I pointed out TSB 05-14-4... he agreed with me... TPS was replaced under warranty... no fuss... no muss!!! How's that for being cool! LOL!

Then you have the dealer like I read about who tried to tell the guy the front popping noise (which we all know about) was caused by his after market mufflers! LOL! give me a break! LOL!

If you'll like to see a little more about my Zex install (V6 uses same kit at GT) check out:

I'm curious how you tune for something that is used for a few seconds at a time? Has anyone had a tune up specifically for nitrous?

basically you need to pull timing and watch the A/F... for example I'm running the 100HP shot.. we needed to take my tune back to stock timing (leaving all the other good stuff from the tune in) and then pull an extra 2 degrees of timing...
