Default De-badging a Boss 302

Howdy all, new to the forums here.

I'm considering a Boss 302 ('11 or '12) for a DD and mountain road navigation machine (though a GT is not ruled out yet).

However, as much as possible I prefer going incognito/low-profile in cars and in life, and the "302" and side-stripes are too much for me.
I figure the the 302 has its soul where it counts (engine, suspension, exhaust, etc) and doesn't need to advertise it to every local LEO and hoodlum I pass by.

What do you all think of the idea of de-striping and de-badging a 302?
Though I plan on keeping my next car for many many years, to what degree would I be affecting the resale value by removing the "302" and side-stripes?

Thanks.

A Boss 302 is arguably a collectible. Regarding resale, if I were shopping a used Boss 302, I would pass on a debadged specimen...but thats just me.

Please, please don't. For the reasons stated and many more, please don't!

I don't think LEOs and thugs really notice if a car is a Boss or not. GT500, perhaps.

I say do it. If you're gonna be putting miles on it, none of the collector types are going to want to touch it anyway. There will be plenty of fools out there that think a car's an investment that will keep them garaged and off the roads to satisfy that market.

If you think the stripes are too much take em off, it'll be your car. Do what you like with it.

It's your car. Do whatever you want with it. I bought my car to drive it. Not to worry about the damn resale value.

As long as you can make it right again, go for it.
