Default boost gauge

thinking of mounting a 2 inch boost gauge between my center a/c vents, but don't know how to remove that piece of the dash or if there is ample clearance behind it, any help would be greatly appreciated 2006 mustang gt

There is lots of room behind it. A friend runs his gauge there. Just cut a hole of the proper size.

I don't remember - it was back in 2005. But I can ask him when I see him. I do remember that a Ford engineer was looking at his car at the Detroit Autorama and said it was purposely left empty back there because they thought about putting a gauge there; put cost measures meant it was never done.

Two of my friends did it - and they said to take the panel out. You need to do that to clamp the gauge in place, and makes it easier to run everything up to it.

Waiting to hear back on how to remove it.

The guy I was thinking of said that he didn't pull the panel. He measured and cut the hole a little small and kept filing to get the boost gauge to fit tight just pressed in. He didn't want to mess with the passenger side air bag, which has to be removed to remove the center panel. He said there is a LOT of room behind the panel.

The blow-off valve for the Vortec should be vacuum operated. At least Prochargers are. You can use the same vacuum source and run a small diameter tube to the gauge.
