Default Heater Hose Assembly durability??

I am changing coolant, hoses etc, and I learn that the heater hose assembly is under the take!! From the pics I can see on the web, it looks like a durable assembly, longer life than typical hose. Would that be correct???

Well on the 5.0 they are under the intake cover. Not under the intake. Don't know the v6 but not sure how that would be possible.
