New here. Just bought a wrecked 2012 GT 5.0. The owner hit some black ice and spun it into a guardrail. The quarters, fenders, bumpers, lights, and hood will all have to be replaced. The doors are fine and no structural damage. Instead of just putting it back together as a standard GT I wanted to get some thoughts on body kits / exterior styling that would be worth applying to the car to make it something more unique and interesting.
Most of the body panels (fenders, bumpers, hood) are all bolt-on so that part is very open, but the quarters are cut and weld, so now would be the perfect time to do something fun on the rear half of the car. I am leaning into the widebody look and something aggressive that is welded and then painted would look great compared to just a bolt-on flair kit IMO. Another thought was going full track-day. Widebody, suspension, gutted interior, roll cage, etc.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
I'll be posting updates as I work on the car for anyone interested in following along with the project.
