On my 2005 saleen sc the rev limiter is set on 6100 rpms? How can i remove it or reset it. Sometimes when i shift it , it reaches 6100 rpms and throttles back and the race is over and that sucks.

 

Are you using the Saleen tune or did you get a custom tune?

 

the car is stock so i think the saleen tune is what i have.

 

Get a tune quick. The Saleen tune is very rich. Once you get a custom tune then you can have them set the rev limiter to what you want. I have a custum tune on my SCT Xcal2 from JDM engineering.

Yes I have my rev limiter set to 6500rpms and I have 3 tunes 1 for street use ,1 for street racing, and 1 for drag strip and race fuel. JDM also has some upgrades for the Saleen that you can buy. PM me your number and I'll give you a call and give you more details.

 

Buy a Diablo Predator. SCT used to be the best but the multiple tune capabilities on the new predators give you the options it was lacking before and is an easy adjustment to bump up your rev limiter. Yes, Saleen will be VERY conservative as they don't want your car blowing up with their tune so you can go more. Without doing forged internals, I would set your limiter no higher than 6600 RPM and if you have a shift light, set it for 6200 RPM

 

Almost no one tunes the Saleen with a Predator. I have only heard of one place using the predator and they are in San Diego. And the new SCT X2 will have all the features that the predator has. The Saleen tune is rich and the AF is over 13.

 

The SCT X-CAL and the Predator tuners both have rev limit adjustment.

 

I'm curious. How much extra risk are you taking by upping your redline at the same time you are using forced induction? I will be getting a SC in the future and this is something I am not too comfortable with but I see it alot from current SC users.
