I was tailgating a guy I work with Sat. morning on the way in. He drives a 2003 Vette. I was with him and the needle was pegged. We went into some twisty's on a country two lane doing 130. He outhandled me in the twist. I had to take them around 110-120 and got back up to him when back on the straight away. He says my stang seems to have a higher top speed than the Vette due to he was buried coming out of the turns and I caught back up to him. He thinks I was 150+, his top speed is 138 (so he says).

Ive hit 124@6200rpm in 4th with the same set up as yours... How far in the "red" were you?
I'll have my Vortec installed 12/28, then will need to test the rating of the BFG's.

Well i've pegged the needle at 145 but who knows how fast you can go unless your with a 200 mile speedo to pace with... and 145 in 4th andyman?
I don't think so! Ive hit 124@6200rpm in 4th with the same set up as yours... How far in the "red" were you?

oh and in case your wondering...it depends what speed you start at to get mex mph out of the gears (of course) but the wind helps as well. Plus there is a small downhill when i start and that adds a few mph. I bet if my car was lower i could go a bit faster.

He's BSing you I had my '01 Vette to 165 with a gear and 2k+ left on the tach.
The '05/06 5 speed is geared for 192 ( though you'd need alot of hp to actually get close )
Vortech or Procharger had an add in several magazines saying they hit 190 with a 'stock'
mustang with just a supercharger added.

He is bone stock. He says he has a speed limit from the factory (like the stang has before we make it go away). I can only go with what he tells me, I am not a Chevette uh..I mean Corvette person.
