That's a sweet Cobra you have - I have a 2001 GT and although we have different trannies I believe the install is very similar. Anyway, I installed a 5.0 Pro Shifter in mine and it took about an 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I was thinking of changing over to a MGW shifter. After you install yours please post a thread and let me know how you like it.

I haven't had any problems with the PRO 5.0. I'm happy with it but I'm the type that is always looking for something better. I do not know of anyone that has a MGW but from what I've read they are really smooth and quiet. I guess if I had one negative to say about the PRO 5.0 it would be it's a bit noisy on the shifts although not objectionable. I did drive a 2002 GT with a Tri-ax and it seemed to have a shorter throw between shifts than my PRO 5.0. But the difference could be attributable to the different tranny. I have the T45. Here's a link to StangNet and their review section on transmissions and shifters. There are reviews on the PRO 5.0, the Tri-ax and two or three others. I hope this helps.

your shifter is very different from the 04 earlier shifters.
