Default tire question

I am running bfgoodrich tires on my 05 mustang gt. I have 4:10 gears, hurst short throw, JLT cai, borla x-pipe exhaust. I have 10.5x18 steeda ultra light rims. I have a problem hooking up. I was wondering what kind of tires people run to help with that problem. I had heard Nitto 555 are good tires but what kind of Nitto? Thanks for the help.

Nitto 555's are a kind of Nitto. Have you changed your control arms or lowered the car?

Yea the car is lowered. I know 555 is a type of nitto, I was wondering if the drag radials would be ideal or not. Thanks

If the car is your only transportation, then drag radials are a bad idea. If you don't have aftermarket lower control arms and lower control arm relocation brackets, then i'd get those before worrying about new tires.

Thanks for the help. I was actually looking at buying metco lower control arms and the relocation brackets. The car is usually only driven on days its nice. I live in kansas so during the winter it doesn't come out of the garage. If it is raining it stays in also.

The Metcos at the best as far as I'm concerned. They really help you hook.

i think you'll be fine with regular nitto 555's. i've had no problem with traction if you get a wide enough rear tire. if you have a real heavy foot with a lot of power maybe get the nitto 555r's for the rear
