I spent the last week visiting my Dad(88) in PA as I knew his long journey on earth was nearing a close. I left him on Wednesday (my birthday) and said my good byes to him and wishing him well. Once he knew I arrived home safely he went to sleep and never woke up. A pain free and peaceful week for him which was he wanted. he was a kind and gentle mas that up to his last week had a joke or something to make you laugh. Last week as the nurse was taking care of him she said she was tired so my dad the jokester told her there is plenty of room in his bed so she can join him - but he said I am not sure what your husband would say! I am so glad I could spend his last days on earth by his side.

RIP Dad you will be missed by everyone you came in contact with.

 

We will finally have closure on Tuesday as that is when the funeral will be.

 

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 2 years ago. It was sudden, so none of us got to say goodbye.

Nothing in this world makes the loss of a father "better" but a final chance to say the things that need to be said is precious, and I'm relieved to hear you had the opportunity, my friend.
