Default Mach 1 times....

Im debating on a Mach 1 or 01 Cobra. Can anybody give me times on your stock or modified Mach's. As soon as my motor is installed back in my car Im heading to the dealership. I like the Mach's style better, so Im wondering how it compares to the SVT. Its time for me to take the next step higher. Plus they are about 7K less than the terminator

Mach 1 with manual trans can run 13.1/106 mphin stock form and low 12's with full exhaust, induction and DR's.The previous owner of my mach ran a best of 13.68/102mph stock. Made shift improvements (shift point/shift firmness only) via SCT and added kn filter and ran 13.4/103 mph. Added all current mods in sig/minus the dr's and ran 13.3/108 mph. Im adding a 3600-3800 stall converter/LT headers in about a week or so in hopes to get into the 12.5/110 mph range. 99-01 cobras can run about 13.3's/104 in stock form and similar times with mach's when modded. The IRS isnt the best rear suspension setup for drag racing (200+lbs heavier as well), but can cut corners very well with it. I would invest in the mach for drag racing or the cobra for road racing, though either can be made to do both well.

You can get an '01 Cobra for much less than the price of a mach. I've seen many '99 and '01 Cobras with around 30-40k miles on them go for about 12. I've never seen a mach with a clear title for less than 17.

The machs are a little faster at the strip stock, but thats mostly due to the solid axle against the cobras IRS. Also, the engine in the mach is not the same as the one in the cobras. They are both 4v 4.6s, but the mach has the heads from the 5.4 used in the navigator, and not as many of the parts are forged. There are some other differences, but I can't remember them right now.

Mach all the way- but im probably a bit biased lol. I know of a 11 second mach 1 with a clear title, and only 7K MILES! for only 15K for sale in KC!

Because once you stall an auto and adjust the shift points, it becomes a beast! Autos don't miss gears, bog, or over rev.
