im in the market in purchasing a new mustang 03 to 04 models only. i currently have a 97 mustang gt that cant be traded in because its salvage. i want to see if i can get some info on the mach one. any info would be helpful. and if i can get any opinions on what color to get because im leaning toward the light blue and orange ones? whats the price for the mach ones with low miles 15k to 25k? and is it better than the 03 -04 cobra? and this question is only being asked because one of my elderly friends told me that supercharged cars dont last long because the supercharger is always on and they only last to abou 35k miles. and having to know alot about the engine of the terminator i want to know some on the mach one. not saying the mach is better or anything but 305 hp from the factory with no 'fI' is pretty good. if you take the supercharger of the cobra how much will it make? 320 hp for the 01 model. so all in all they are not that different an engine. anyone in here have a super modded Mach one pictures will appreciated.[sm=pcwhack.gif]

 

Ill get you some pictures once I get off work (10:30). The Mach 1 is VERY similar to the 2001 Cobra. Same engine. Now the 03/04 Cobra "Terminator" as complete forged internals, etc. Someone else will shed light but I gotta go to work! LOL I lost track of time

 

The Mach 1 obviously has a lot of "heritage" assets to it. That's one thing I loved about mine. As far as comparison's with the Mach and Cobra, there are pros and cons to both. Yes, an 03-04 cobra is faster than a Mach 1. And no, the factory supercharger should not be a concern unless you start modding things. then you may not expect a forced induction car to last long. I've seen terminator cobras already hitting around 100k miles with stock motors. So don't let that be a stopping point. A few differences are the Mach 1 has a solid axle, and the cobras have an IRS. IMO, the Mach's are better for launching because of this. Of course, the Cobra has forged internals (terminator). As far as the Mach or 99-01 cobra being faster, ultimately on the streetit will always come down to a drivers race. But, with that room for error eliminated (100% equal drivers) the Mach 1 is going to be a bit faster. So don't always go necessarily by hp ratings. My Mach, as well as many other's I've seen, have put down over 270rwhp completely stock. Still think it has "305" flywheelhp? lol Price wise, 99-01 cobras are still going for mid teens at best, but I have seen a couple high mileage ones going for around 13k-14k (I've actually been in the market for cobras and mach 1's, so these arerecent prices). Mach 1's are still goingfor high teens, most hovering around the 18k range. Of course, there are still many going for over 20k. I have seen quite a few going for a little lower, maybe even down to 15k, but you're going to sacrifice something (either it's an 03, high mileage, salvage title, etc). 03-04 cobras are still all over the place. I've seen them going for over 30k all the way to 18kwith very high mileage, so good luck with those. Bottom line, the Mach 1or99-01 is bang for buck. However, if it's immediate power you want without touching anything, go for the 03-04 cobra. My personalchoice was a Mach 1, but all thesecars are great. Good luck!
