first mods on the mach
i have finally saved up enough money to actually do a performace mod to my car. im in a little bit of a pickle though as to what to get. the best bang for buck is what im looking for. i've heard a lot of people say there first mod was gears, catbacks, or intakes, i have a magnaflow catback with straight through mufflers i think already. What were the first mods some of you guys did to your machs? what would you guys recommend? i have 1500 comming but im only looking to spend about a third of it, (gotta save the rest for college expenses). So far the only ideas ive had were 4:10's for acceleration, afs 10-10.5 17"s for the rear (traction) or a h or x pipe, not really sure which one or if i would need headers LT's equipped at the same time cus that would mean more $$$ any help or ideas are greatly appreciated

10.5s with 315s is honestly more for looks than performance...unless they are DRs and then you'll hook up ...that magnaflow is a great choice. As far as whats next get the gears, a nice install kit, and a Mac Prochamber or O/R X pipe...both of those will give you good top end gains for relatively low $$$. next in my book would be a Short throw shifter and a dyno tune to maximize your gains.

If you want the ultimate best bang for the buck, do gears. No it won't add horsepower but it will feel like you just picked up 50 horses and lost about 500 lbs off the car. For the Machs, most people say 4.10s or 4.30s since we like to rev higher up, especially for the 5-speeds.
