Bang for the buck, BBK is good. You get what you pay for. Kooks is areally good brand, too,and they won't break the bank.
I personally really can't see THAT much difference in quality versus price with a brand like SLP. I do get the better quality angle, but not for that much incrementally - i.e., I don't think the SLP's are almost twice as good in the quality department as the price would indicate. Some may say that, and I can understand why - a little dab'll do ya in the mal-fitting LT header department on a 4v! I think I'd rather stick a hot fire poker in my eye!! [:@]
I also know first hand the importance of qualitygood fitting LT's - SpecterGT260 and I put LT's on his 98 LS1 Bird and they practically fell on, and he didn't skimp on the purchase.
I think with a good set of gaskets and a lot of patience, the BBK's represent a good value. Unless you had a VERY good muffler shop in your general vicinity, I would buy either a matching mid-pipein a package deal or I would get a Prochamber for LT's - I've heard that the fitment on those is good.
There is a shop in Dallas that sells LT's and a mid-pipe for $550. Not sure of the brand, tho...
