Default When is the best time for tuning your engine?

I had my 2004 mach 1 for about a month now, it only has 3000 miles and its automatic, i saved up enoughmoney to buy magnaflowX-pipe and catbackbut im still thinking about the exhuast, and enough to buy 4:10s for my car. When is it the best time to tune your engine right to get max performance? Also what size should the tubing be on the exhaust pipes?

once you get all your basic bolt on's is the best time to tune your car IMO

You should go with 2.5 inch piping for exhaust.

It would be ideal to tune after each mod to get a gain out of them, but I wouldn't bother getting a tune until you have at least your basic bolt-ons (intake, catback, midpipe etc.)

thx for the info guys, buti have another question. Y u say 2.5 inch piping? some other guys said 3-4 inch pipings. Also i would like to know how much horsepower u get from a full exhaust system (catbacks, midpipes, etc.) and how much it costs?

full exhaust will probably run you 700-1000. and you talking gains of 20-30hp or about 15-17 rwhp from all the dyno's i've seen. i would personally go with a 3" pipe, but i dont have a mach yet. i jsut think that a 3" pipe would reduce the back pressure a little better, 4" is just way to excessive.

Not worth going with 3" piping. It will just lower back pressure and will show no more gains.

I have stock exhaust on my Mach until the spring. I will be installing a Magnaflow Magnapack catback and eventually a midpipe. I had SLP on my GT.
