Default detail around stripes

hey y'all. detailing her tomorrow. I usually do the best I can w/ polishing around the stripes but being meticulous about it can be time consuming. do any of you wax over the stripes? thanks a bunch.

If you wax on vinyl, bad things generally happen, like staining. I'd either avoid them by about an inch to be safe, or take some painter's tape and mask them off just to be safe. Removing wax from vinyl is such a pain, man.

sounds like "different strokes for different folkes". Think I'll compromise and avoid the hood vinyle and go over the side stripes. Thanks a bunch guys!

Don't know about the hood stripes since i have black, but i waxed right over the side stripes, looks tight!

I usually wax over the stripes. After I am done waxing I go over all the vinyl and plasticwith Son of a Gun. Itremoves the waxfrom any vinyl and plastic. Works great.

i waxed around it one time.. but then i had it detailed and they went over it.. but they also took the finish off my spoiler... Auto Imagie car detailing FTL

B.O.B., so it sounds like I did the right thing by not polishing my spoiler? Sat there and looked at it but didn't touch it. Thank goodness, it sounds like.

i actully used this meguires cleaner i have on it ( forget what it is called), and it cleaned it up nice and gave it a ncie shine. but when i got it detailed idk what they did... i think they used a brillo pad on it!
