Default good run down the tubes

So I had a good run going, but I had 4 tenths on him on the tree and caught him at the 1k ft. so I rode the brakesand still almost broke out. 2.003 60ft and 8.505 8th mi. Any y'all hit the 1.99 60 ft. yet w/ stocky ****ty skinny arss street tires? Had a dude try to tell me I should be doing 1.8s. I said whatever.

I dont think 1.8s are doubtful at all, but with the power and tourque ur putting out 2.0 seems to be right in line to me. Im guessing ur MPH in the 8th was at like 81-82? qtr mile of 13.3- 13.4 @104?

I have run 1.59 and 1.61 60fts with Nitto drag radials on my car with stock suspension. Granted my car is an auto with a slutty converter and ease out of the gate...but it is possible to run these numbers.

whodini...1.8s I'm sure are possible if all elements in the universe are aligned properly, just hard with my plain jane stock width Kumho tires. 8th mi. mph was 85.5 and, using my 1k ft time as a guide, my 1/4 mi. would've been right around 13.1 @ 108. For whatever reason, my car seems to run good mph. The clutch work on the line really hurts my et.

Corey...heard good things about the Nittos and will prolly get a pair so I can put my uninstalled 4.10s to use. Your Mach serves as something to shoot for for alot of us I'm sure. Nice myspace page, felt like I was looking at a movie star with the so many places I've read about the car. "Love Song" is one of the best songs in the world by the way, may have to change mine for a bit now.

For sure go with the nittos- you wont get alot of miles on them but they sure hook great on the street and not bad on the track either. I run mine on the track at 16psi and when i heat them up they are 100 times better than street tires. If you want a site to get some - leme know. I just picked up a pair for 290$ delivered. Good luck with ur ride, mine has a long way to go!

Clear me up here.Your "Nitto 555 drag radials for the street"...youdaily drive on them as wellor just have Nittos in the rear on race day?Is it classified as a street tire or a drag radial? Being completely honest, I wanna be able to say I got into the 12s on street tires! Thanks a bunch for your help on this.

1 more question for ya...you think additional width on a more streetable tire offers a gain comparable to a softer tire?

Ive been running nitto DR's for 5+ years on my cars and I go through a set a year, avg 12-14K miles. Best DD tire out there IMHO if you are looking for more straight line grip. I know MT's/BFG DR's are better at the track, but for longevity, nittos win hands down. The new ET street radials (6/32 tread depth)might get ya 10k on the street though, but Im waiting for someone to confirm this. I did run a set of ET streets about 6 years ago on my bolt on 02 GT, but they only lasted 5k miles and makes your car a death trap in the rain.

Im no expert, all I can tell you is my opinion. I have a set of ET streets that i use on occassion for the track just bc i got them cheap- but its a pain to change them out all the time- which is why i hae nittos. Nittos are not full drag tires, they are DOT approved and do have a tread. THe ET streets also have a slight tread but i would never drive those on a wet road. And wider street tires arent going to help you nearly as much as a drag radial. Its the hard rubber that makes a street tire spin so easily.

Definitely listen them and buy the Nitto DR's. I bought my first set this spring and I will never go back to a normal tire. Granted I only drive about 6-7k miles a year so tire wear isn't a concern. Before I had these tires, I couldn't go full throttle in 1st or 2nd on the street. 1st was all spin and 2nd would spin pretty far into it.

Remember that the Nitto DR's do run small. If you have stock wheels, go for the 275's. They are actually about a 255.
