Losing 3rd gear!!!!!Help.
Yup, I was downshifting at the turn around at the end of the shutdown area and the grinding started. One too many 2/3 powershifts. I can get it to not grind under normal acceleration if I'm gentle with it, but other than that it's the typical grind noise as it goes into gear. How long do these symptoms stay at bay if I'm gentle with it (except on the track)?
One good thing though...

Very not bad times brudda.. Though about your tranny, if it's doing that when you're gentle with it and not grinding, I'd say you're losing the synchro and not the gear. If you were losing the gear, you'd be having trouble getting it into 3rd gear at all. The fact that it's still working is a good thing, but from what it sounds like to me, you're losing a synchro broham. I'd also check out the shift fork to see if it's bent or damaged, but I don't think that's it. You CAN damage a shift fork powershifting a lot, but that wouldn't sound like what you're describing.
You can get synchro repair or replacement kits from a lot of places. Steeda has them, I think THR has them, MM has them, and I know JEGS has them too. They're usually about a hundred bucks give or take a few bucks, depending on where you get it from. It's the labor putting it in that's a bitch. [&:]Sorry to hear about that brudda.

Have you adjusted your clutch cable depress and then lift up with the top of your foot. Also after market adjuster and and quadrant are in order for precision shifting. http://www.highperformancestangs.com...ead.php?t=3794
^^^ Most dealerships won't fix it just for a TSB brudda. Some will some won't just to avoid pissed off customers, but a majority won't do anything with it. You might be able to convince them to fix it if you're nice, but the don't have to. The only way they HAVE to fix it is with either a company initiated or DOT initiated safety recall. Sorry to say, but other than that you're own your own..
really? i know that the dealerships around here will fix the TSB's i guess they're nicer than some. Of course i am kinda pushy when i get pissed...the whole marine thing comes out and i think they do it just to shut me up and get me out.
I mean it's still worth a shot to see if they will fix it if not i would either upgrade or buy the billet kit and DIY
