Default Worth getting?

So i found a local mustang Mach 1. Has a few mods, 5 spd, azzure blue w/ 58k miles on it. Guy wants $12k obo. However on dyno he said if threw a rod through the block. would it be worth getting and fixing? and how much would it cost to fix? (I/my dad are pretty mechanically inclined and have pulled and rebuilt a few motors in our day, plus we have many decent hook ups w/ shops and auto parts)

so is it worth getting and fixing? if i can get it for under 12k?

I know which Mach youre talking about. Cory's right?

Thing is beautiful and IMO worth it. I wouldnt think it would be too much to fix.

I'd love to know how much it would be too. Seems like someone would be getting a steal!

Whats the full extent of the damage do you know? He messaged me the night it happened and said the car was done, but never got specific with it.

if the rod deal is true, no it's not worth 12k or whatever, an engine for one of these costs 7k......and no way a rolling chasis is gonna cost 12k.
