hey guys
Well hopefully when I get back I'll be able to find work around San Antonio where there ISN'T any emissions testing.. [8D]Friggin TX lets the counties decide.. And because Ft. Worth is the 4th largest city in the state, Tarrant county has friggin emissions.. [:@]lol.. bastards..
But yah, what kind of headers you have doesn't matter OP, if you're bolting up an O/R X or H, just get a hand-held and flash tune it to pass emissions.. That way all you have to do is re-bolt the mids, instead of having to drop the headers out, which is a pain in the ***..

well that sounds like a solid decision then. right now i have an o/r H, and i swap in the stock cats for emissions. takes me about an hour and a half including the time it takes to lift the car. i was just at the insurance company checking out rates, and everything looks pretty good. i have really high limits, and this car would probably run me just under $140/mo with the coverage i have now. if i dropped it to just liability, i could get away with under $60/mo. i just picked up a new job, so i think im gonna bank a few grand over the next month and a half, and see where i am in about August, and whats available.

swaping the cats on your 6 is going to be 110% different than these machs. there is 0 rooms to work on them, and unless you have some very very very small hands and a looooooooong extension on your ratchet, the headers will be totally unaccessible to you while on jack stands. thinking that its ANYTHING like your 6 will just cause you a world of pain and heart ache once a year. I have the bassani X with high flows on mine, and i love it.
or you could just find you a garage that doesnt check for cats. there are a couple shops here in va (we have very very very strict laws when it comes to whats legal on cars) that only check to make sure you got brakes/tires/lights/seatbelts and thats about it. hell, one shop passes my dad drag car as street legal.[&:]

yea i know. its an old red neck guy that runs the place. they are back in the industrial section of town in an old building that resembles a hangar. i think he is just happy to have business where he is, so he passes everything.
he also passes my friend's 240 with a complete JDM swap, motor and tranny. no where close to USA emissions.
