Lowering springs

Lowering springs
I'm addicted to modding. I want to lower my girl but I don't want to pay anyone to do it.
1. Is it easy to lower the car with just one person and do I need any special tools?
2. What kit/springs do you guys suggest?
3. What effects does lowering have on your car?
Advice is greatly appreciated or a DIY website would be cool too[8D]
Thanks in advance.

RE: Lowering springs
H&R and Eibach are the ones i hear most about. With springs the suspension will stiffenup a little making you feen bumps a lot more andbe careful going into driveways andspeedbumps.I'm picky about doing stuff to my car, i would rather let someone with experience do it.....that way if something wrong happens I can blame them.

RE: Lowering springs
it'll be easier if you do it with a friendbob.
i have h&r springs [pic in my sig]
for your third question you get better handling and not alot of body roll, so thats always good.
a good idea would be switching out your shocks and struts while your at it. and if you decide to remove isolators, wrapping each end of the spring with duct tape would be a cool idea. ive been hearing if you do around a 2" drop that you'll need caster and camber plates, they allow for more true alignment. check out mustang world . c o m for their diy. all i gotta tell you is watch out for roadkill and never forget

RE: Lowering springs
if you really dont want to pay anything you can just cut your stock springs because they are a linear rate spring they will be just fine just shorter. thats what i did with mine and it cost me nothing and looks and feels great

LOL to the fat chicks.
Thanks for the info guys. Looks like the H&R get the unanimous vote. If I get it done anytime soon i'll post pics.
