Default headers....suggestions

I'm looking into getting some new headers but I'm not sure what kind to get. Should I be looking for a shorty set or Long tube? I want the car to gain a more aggressive sound and of course more hp. The only thing I've done to my car is got a flowmaster cat back nothing else to the exhaust. Any feed back would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Don't waste your $ on shorties as they yield maybe 5 hp from what I've read. The longtubes are the way to go. They range anywhere from $500 to $1000, plus installation ofcourse. A midpipe is the best performance for the $ IMO, especially offroad if you have MIL eliminators or a tuner to turn the o2 sensors off. Keep in mind if you get longtubes you have no choice but to buy a new shorty midpipe.

yeah rygi is right, shorties arent worth the money, hassle, and gain. LT's are the way to go, but if you dont feel like spending that money at the moment, just find an O/R H pipe to go with for the time being, eliminating those cats will do wonders for flow.

lol at the last comment well I have an o/r H pipe just sitting in my garage but I've heard I'll lose some highend so I haven't put it on I'm thinking if it's not much I'll be losing I'll go ahead and put it on when I get some headers. I really appreciate all your feedback, it's been very helpful. I'm definitely going with LT's. Thanks again.

your not gonna lose high end with it.
But keep in mind if your going LT now and don't have the X/H pipe for LT's you'll have to CUT the mid pipe to fit, which can be a PITA.

I went with the SLP 1 3/4" LT - SLP Power Flo X with oversized cats & SLP Power flo cat back. The car gained 35 HP and sounds sweet when the petal is to the carpet. 32 V engines love to breath!

Kooks, ARH, SLP & Stainless works would be the only ones I would buy. IMO bbk and mac are crap. I've seen them rust/fall apart quick. A blind man can weld better then the guys at BBK lol.
