Default Battery Relocation

So has any body on here used a battery relocation kit? what is the point and is it worth it? i figure its for a bit better weight balance but does the battery really make that much of a difference or is it for looks/more room in the engine bay?

The point is 1) weight distribution, 2) better traction, most effective mounted over the passenger side tire where the majority of torque is sent. I considered it myself until learning that at most drag strips an external shut-off switch is required for tech inspection. I really don't think it's enforced for street looking stangs though, depends on your track. For the above reasons, the new Dodge Challenger actually comes with the battery mounted in that exact spot.....not fair, man.

So what exactly is an external shut off then because that would definitely be something that I would need to work out

there's a switch on the outside of your car that can be used to disable the battery in the event of an emergency
