Need help on launching
Went to the track tonight and the best i could get out of my car was 13.6 at 104 with a 2.2-2.3 sixty foot. My mach is a 5-speed with magnaflow c/b, c&l cai, and c&l mass air meter. Can anyone give me advice on how to launch the car i dumped it at 2 grand and spun but any lower and it bogged? I was expecting a 13.3 or better are my expectations to high?

Practice, and most anyone who has been to the track enough times will tell you that your best times are not likely going to come with a simple dumping of the clutch.
This causes spinning, and in case of too much traction, a bog.
A quick slipping out of the clutch off the line followed by lots of throttle usually yields the best results.
Good luck, with DR's and a 1.8 60' you've got 12's easy. Just takes a little while to re-learn the car at the drag strip.

13.3-13.2 is a great goal.
i've been trying to break the 2.0 60' myself.
to fix the bogging issue 1) don't dump the clutch it results in lots of spin as you can tell, and 2) trying bringing your rpms up to say about 4-5k and slipping the clutch A LOT if you can't smell it your doing it wrong.

I'm having to relearn the whole process now with 4.10s and good rubber but ran stock gears and tires for a while and found that raising the rpm to 3 or 3.5K and rolling the clutch while gently gassing it worked well for me. When fully staged I'd lift the clutch pedal a couple inches so when I left it was more predictable and smoother. This method yielded me a best 60' of 1.98 with stock stuff. Every track is different you'll just need to do what everyone is telling me to do now...give it time, seat time.

I found this very effective for taking off fast on the street with minimal tire spin. This will take practice to get use to the method. Use the least amount of throttle while taking off that gives you a good launch with out spinning the tires. then ease into the throttle when you get rolling. This way you are not slipping the clutch and trashing your TOB with street tires. You should be WOT in 1st gear about 2,500 -3,000 rpms and the tires should be crying but not spinning excessively and get ready to grab 2nd. Consider a hand held tuner with a custom tune from a dyno shop near you. The timing at WOT on a stock Mach is 15-17 Degrees. They really wake up when you can get the timing at WOT around 23.5 + or - a degree or 2 with a O/R Pipe. The Dyno shop will know how high the timing can be with your mods with the octane that is in your area to support the extra timing to prevent detonation.

Your goal is not out of the question. To me, slipping/rolling the clutch instead of punching the gas was like swallowing pride, and it took a few passes to get it into my thick head that, when perfected, it yielded better 60' times than dumping because the car didn't spin or bog. It just takes some practice if it's not what you're used to doing. Get your 60' down to 2.0x (1.9x if all of the planets are aligned) and you'll be there. Another note, one time I forgot my little tool to take off my fancy valve stem caps so was forced to race @ 42 psi and still managed 2.0x short times using the rolling clutch method. Don't go crazy with lowering psi, just be consistent with it. Sorry for the 2 chapter reply.
