Default Suspension Questions

My plan is to get 18" inch rims with H and R ss springs and MM cc plates. Now, I have been told I need new shocks and struts also with that?? I want to do things right, but am also on a limited budget. Are the shocks and struts necessary?

I don't see why it would be necessary to have to buy new shocks/struts but I can understand why people would recommend it. I don't know if the shocks/struts on the Terminator are different then the Mach but I'm running H&R Sport Springs with MM CC Plates and I don't have any problems at all.

Though they would help, from one limited budget brother to another, they aren't necessary. You're fine with the wheels and springs.

A termi comes with Bilsteins. Mach's come with Tokico's.

You can go without them but your stock ones will fail. Not Bilsteins but the Tokico's.

what do you mean "fail"? The car only has 20k miles, and is driven maybe 4-5k a year at most.

They aren't meant to ride at that height. They are designed for stock ride height and when you lower your car the shocks and struts are partially compressed all the time.

oo ic. Would 18" over 17" rims have any impact on that? I'm not sure what I should do now because I won't be able to afford shocks and struts right now. Probably not until next year.

The overall diameter of the tire is still the same. It doesn't matter if you have a 20 inch rim.

The caster camber plates come with bushing to offset the ride height issue. http://www.maximummotorsports.com/co...CC9994v4r8.pdf page 4 shows the bushings.
