Default Pypes stuff

Hey I was just wondering if anybody had any beef with Pypes brand mid-pipes, particularly o/r x and catted x? Its tempting to just buy them because they're cheap and ss but I would like to hear from you guys that know first hand. Looking to do a catted x and Corsa weld in black db series mufflers. Any input appreciated!

Haven't had 1st hand experience but have come across quite a few stangs with them. In these days of free-flowing info, and the fact that humans seem quicker to complain than praise from the things we buy for our cars, I'd say that the fact that I haven't heard of bad things about them says that they're a descent product.

From what I hear their are fitment issue when trying to bolt the midpipe to the exhaust manifold. Maybe someone can chime in with more info on this or you might be able to do a google search.

Yeah I havent heard anything bad either but its like 330 for a catted Pypes or like 540 for a catted Bassani... plus I am getting Corsa mufflers which are like 190 each. I guess if nobody chimes in I will just bite it and get the Bassani.

UPR makes a good mid-pipe.

The one benefit of the Pypes X pipe is that the cats are removable and it comes with test pipes like the SLP X used to.

When you buy the Bassani catted x they give you the offroad tubes too, too bad its like $540!

I think that when the time comes though I will get the UPR pipe, I have to buy tires before I buy anything else so I figure I will just get wheels too.

I had a Bassani o/r x on my last car and it would only throw codes whenever you really got on the gas and the way I would get rid of the code would be getting on the gas again a little ways down the street, is that normal? Anybody run an o/r pipe and not throw codes?

It kinda looks like he has the UPR mid pipe doesnt it? I really want this sound but do you think I could achieve this with a catted x and the black db series? Red (agressive) is what he has and black is "very agressive"

I currently have the UPR catted x with PYPES cat back on my mach. I had a lot of problems with the fit of the UPR X-pipe. I eventually got it on but had leaks at the manifold connection. A muffler shop had to cut the ends off and fab up new flanges to make it work because the bolts would bottom out and still not seal the connection.

I have used PYPES cat back on 2006 gt also and loved them, but again you get what you pay for so be prepared for more issues with fit on the cheaper stuff. Either way it is much better than stock.
