Default Summit/Jegs H-pipes

How's the quality and fitment? Obviously it's not stainless but nothing hi-temp paint couldn't help. I'm a believer in "you get what you pay for" but the $145 price is nice if I can get a little positive feedback on them. Thx in advance.

I had a summit h pipe on my 01 gt a few years back and fit was 7/10. Defiantly good for the price.

Careful with the cheaper mid pipes. They are definitely hit and miss type deals. My first experience was with a $150 UPR, and it fit perfect. My next one was a used, beat down catted SLP pipe, and it leaked like a SOB. New, that thing cost like $450, but it had been swapped and dragged across the pavement a good bit, so. My third/current mid pipe is a PYPEs piece. Fitment was bad. I had to do a fair amount of prying to make it fit and welding to close up the leaks. I still have a faint leak on the driver side mani. Basically, I've seen and heard good and bad reports on just about every brand out there with the exception of Bassani. Seems as if their pipes have very consistent quality and fitment.

I bought a Greyhound performance x-pipe, new, off of ebay for 150 shipped. It seems to hang a tad low, but the fitment was 9.9999999/10.

Summit is known for using some name brand parts and just putting their name on them. I've heard their cams were actually crane or comp cams with summit name on them. Don't know about h-pipes though.

local exhausts shops are normally around the 150 and they use parts that last and hold. There is one 30mins from my house that will make and install H/X pipe for 150...if need be they will correct any poor fitments as well.
