when you say "get it to Mach 1 Standard" do you mean HP wise? if so full bolt ons with get you there.

You could reach the same horsepower with the GT; however the Mach 1 has a completely different motor than your GT. GT's = 16valve SOHC / Mach 1 = 32valve DOHC.

you can get NEAR the bone stock mach1 horsepower with full boltons, but the mach1 has a 4v motor with a better power band. if you want to swap the mach1 motor you'll need a few grand to do it.

You'll be doing damn good to gain 40 hp from full bolt ons. Machs are pretty underrated and make closer to 325 bhp, so thats a solid 65 hp to try to make up with bolt ons. If you add cams to those bolt-ons, then you will be a lot closer to making the same power as a Mach. The best thing you can do if you want to convert the car, or get it up to par with a Mach, is to swap your 2v out for a Mach 4v. There's a guy in this section that has one for sale for $1500, it just needs a head gasket. Its a very easy, straight forward swap.

One thing it will never have is an R code in the vin number! So you can spend money and make it LOOK like a Mach 1, but it'll never BE a Mach 1.

I don't think he wants it to BE a Mach 1.
Just perform like one.

With full bolt on's you still won't perform quite like an M1. With a PI swap and some cams, it'll be close.

With stage 2 Comp Cams and full bolt ons I still couldn't touch my girlfriend in her car. Then of course after all the money I spent on mine, she got jealous.
So...O/R X, Bassani catback, CAI, and a tune came quick to her car. I can't even keep up with her now even if she gives me a head start.

Just do what I'm doing. Kenne Bell is in the mail for my GT.
Of course, one is on its way for Andrea's M1....

...it sucks having a girlfriend who loves cars as much as I do...

Better off getting a blower for the 2V than a n/a 32V swap. If anything you should swap in a termi motor.

If you do full bolt ons, tune, and gears you'll be very close to a Mach 1 power wise, and just as fast if you can drive (if not a tad faster). A friend on mine has a bone stock 2003 Mach 1 5-speed. He went with us to our local dyno day, and put down 273 rwhp IIRC. I've raced him a few times, and i always get him by a solid car or 2 by the top of 4th.

Realistically, you're better off with a blower or nitrous if you want real power.
