Default oil prefference

I am about to do an oil change to my 03 Mach. I was going to use Ford motorcraft 5w 20 semi synthetic in it and a Ford motorcraft oil filter. Should I use something different or what u guys use out there.

Sounds good to me. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w20 and a Mobil 1 filter, but I doubt its any better than what you're using

Use what has always been run in it. There is no way that Royal Purple gives you HP, I run it in my car because that is what has been run through it since the original owner So expensive.

yes and no.

oil is not a power adder technically, but without the oil the engine heats and siezes. Oil is merely a coolant and lunricant to stop this from happening. Additives and stuff is what makes certian oils better or worse. like el cheapo wally world oil is crap, and Amsoil is top of the crop. let me see if i can find the oil article i read not to long ago and i will post it up for you.

like humans car engines have an optimal operating temperatures a car running at 210* isn't as efficient as one running 190* just like if your temperature gets to 105.6 your brain begins to fry and organs shut down it is like wise with a car.

Good point, I wasnt implying that he should go buy the cheapest stuff that he has never heard of. I was just trying to say that there is not much of a difference between the top manufacturers. Honestly I would use Motorcraft but I have heard that it is best to use what has been run through the motor for the life of the motor...?

i do believe that would be true as it has soaked into the block and the internals. But could it hurt to go up in grade probably not, lesser grade most likely.

Amsoil SSO 0W-30 and an Ea0 filter. What better could you ask for in an engine oil?
