Ok so I had the mach back at the shop. I'm glad I didn't drive it much... the shop put a custom tune on and said it was pre-det and said they messed with the tune a bit. The other noise is still the "marble in a can" kind of noise only at 1900-2100 rpm's and only under light or fluttering throttle and only while the car is in gear. If it is in neutral the motor sounds freakin' great. Any ideas?

 

my buddy has a 04 mach and has some rattleing/ticking under light throttle and I think around 2K rpm as well....he has had it to 4 different shops, none of which has been able to pin point the problem. It has since gone away then come back.

Sorry I can't help, but seems you are not the only one lol And I don't think it's the valve tick since that prob was primarily in the 03's.

 

Car just had a valve job, new timing compenents and all the lifters checked.

 

well I'll pass that info on to him. If you did that work and still didn't fix it.

Was your noise somewhat faint? It's not some loud annoying ticking...but it's there and I have heard it...and it's annoying lol
