Question NEED HELP!!! ANY ADVICE OR TIPS??

I just installed SLP LTs on my mach 1 and something is wrong. when the car is on or when i gas it, it sounds like a metal pin hitting a fan or something. im not sure what it is but it started when i got my LTs put in.

I think it is my dip stick cuz when i pulled it out it looked a little bent and it was a pain in the *** to put back in. ANY HELP OR ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO WOULD BE AMAZING!!! SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THANKS!

A lot of times a thinner walled header will amplify the natural "ticking" of valves opening and closing. i can't see a reason it would be the dip stick, it's supposed to be a little bent kinda like this ~, but it it looks like this < or > then it's F'd up.

Yeah when I had mine installed they broke the dipstick so I dont see it looking pretty lol. Are they rubbing on something? Crossmember maybe? When I put an offroad x pipe on my 96 gt it rubbed on the crossmember and made a terrible sound like what you describe...

Just put mine on and haven't connected the vacuum hose because one of the primaries is very close to the bung. Do you have clearance between the sliding nut (on the vacuum hose that goes over the bung on the header) and the primary? If it's very close it could be vibrating off of it.

Not 100% sure, but it kind of sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Either a header gasket got fubared, or the connection to the mid-pipe is leaking.

Yeah I just had an exhaust leak fixed, my BBK "Premium" header gaskets blew out after 2k miles... I guess you could describe the sound as metal hiting a fan... Get a video for us. An exhaust leak is a real distinct sound, does the car sound like an old truck lol?

+1, I think the sound the op is refering to the gasket not being properly fitted or just broken.

hey guys! Thanks for all the ideas of what it was! I appreciate it. I found out what was wrong... Apparently when you get SLP headers they forget to tell you that the oxygen sensors they give you are 4 inches to short. so the guy that did my exhaust used a radiator hose and clamped it together. all in all, the radiator hose on my headers that is connected had popped off because the piping can only withstand like 150 degrees. also two of the bolts connecting my passenger side header where sticking out about an inch... so problem found, problem fixed! Thanks Guys for all the input.

By the way, with the headers on my car sounds so much meaner than before, cant go wrong with SLP.
