04 Mach 1 Maintenance
Sup Mustang bros, I got my 04 Mach 1 from a Ford dealership at 71k miles. I have NO IDEA if the spark plugs have been changed and i asume the brake pads havent since their screeching now. I have done searches over this Forum and found ALOT of people (and i mean ALOT) have problems changing spark plugs in a 4.6 engine. However, ive seen many posts of people NEVER having problems, such an ex quote "next time ill use a 1ft extension so i can change my plugs in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours lol", and much more similar to it. So should i risk changing my own plugs or is it REALLY that difficult?
Also on my pwoer steering fluid when i romove the cover cap i thought there was suposed to be a dipstick stuck to it but i found nothing. Just somthing floating in the resivor. How should i go about checking it?

I dont belive the p/s cap has a dip stick on it there is a max/min gauge on the side of the bottle.
as for the plugs I did mine last fall and found all came out ok except the back cly pass side was corroded in. I sprayed some Pb blaster in there and let is sit a litle while and it came out with alill more force than all the rest did but it came out ok. I did put antisize on the threads when I reinstalled them though.

IMO our cars are the easiest in the world for changing plugs. Like most cars, Ford says plugs are fine up to 100k mi., but like most stang owners I do mine every 50k or so. Like watman says use antiseize. Also, be sure the car is completly cooled down and you may want to use a socket that clicks onto the plug a little bit so that they're easy to get out.
Very easy bro, just make sure you torque them down to the right inch pounds, I cant remember what that number is but you should be able to find my thread if you search for it. I did everything but the rearend fluid at 50k miles.
