Default 1971 price?

Hi my uncle has a 1971 Mach 1 429 V8 in the fastback. The car is in great shape and I want to buy it one day. How much do you think a car like that is worth/costs?

i have no concept on how much that would be worth today, and what condition. if it's in perfect condition it could go for $5k grand at least. if it's in fairly decent i would say $2500. don't quote me. i could be WAY off.

It will be worth way more then $5000. All depends on options. You say it has a 429? Is it a 360. 370 or 375 HP motor? Does it have a ram air hood? Does it have A/C? What shape is it in and how many miles. A car in good condition with these options plus others could fetch anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000. The car retailed new for about $4000. Good luck!

I would say it has either 360 or 370. It does have A/C. I don't know about the good but I think it's the original. I am guessing on most of this

After looking around on the Internet I found that it does have the ram air hood.

Looks nice man. The best way to find out about the car is to decod the Vin. And the best way to do that is by getting a Marti report. A basic report cost about $20 and will tell you exactly what the car came with from the factory. If you want to go crazy then get the deluxe report for about $50. It will tell you much more about the door plate. Start sweet talking your uncle and see if he is willing to let you have the car when the time comes.

Just talked with my uncle. Everything is original except the interior had to get refinished, it needed a paint job and he put in a 3:25 rear end. Other then that it is completely factory. It has the 429 that puts out 360hp. The ram air hood. Has A/C and as a guess say around 40000 miles
