What's a typical HP gain from the 96-98 Cobra intake cams?

hopeing for 20+with the intake spacer and an upgraded sct canned tune, but the track times will be the real show.

everything I've read suggests a 10-15 top-end gain with the cams alone. I would think with the spacer and tune with it would certainly be your 20+ maybe more.

I think I saw a thread over on modular revolution that a guy swapped in 98 Cobra intake cams on his Mach 1 and gained 20rwhp just by themselves.

I also have seen threads that say the spacers didn't do anything for them hp or tq wise.

ya ive heard good and bad on the spacer but the idea is sound and spacers have been shown to work on other engines so I figured why not it was quick and easy so.
as for the cams im hoping to gain some top end to my et's at the strip.

I'm surprised you haven't ran faster than 13.17 especially with those MT ET Streets. Be nice to see mid to low 12s this season after the cam swap.

ok so the local Ford dealer had the intake cam sproket bolts in stock!!!!! wow I couldnt belive that. and the valve cover gaskets will be in tomarrow morning.
So I took apart the other side(pass) and replaced that cam. the issue I ran into with that side was the timing cover was too close to main timing gear. as you can see

so I endded up not removing it. I compressed the tensioner and locked it with a paper clip(same as other side) see pic

and removed cam mains and was able to get the cam out with the tensioner compressed and some wiggling. lubed up the new cam and installed (using vise grips as my holder) and slowly tightend down the cam mains alittle bit at a time on both mains

Pic is after cam is torqued down

now I just need valve cover gaskets and is time to put it back together.

oh hear is a picture of the main timing chain block i made to hold the main chain aginst the tensioner guides you can kinda see it in the pic.

here is what the tool looks like

you be one bad dude. Keep rocking man hope it keeps going fairly smooth for ya. 13.1 with streets tires, be nice to see what you'll see with the new hardware, a good tune, and good rubber. LOW 12s for sure.
