Hey guys I got a mach 1 about a month ago, it runs fine, has just shy of 80k, however theirs a few noises I just wanted some educated input on.

When coasting, if I take it out of gear, theres a thump sound, I can feel it in the shifter, it's louder the warmer it is, only happens in neutral during decel. Also theirs a sound like change bouncing around in a metal can from the tranny at 1800-2200 rpms, I've written this noise off as normal ware and tare on the tranny due to the rpm it happens at.

The thump is the most annoying because whenever i come to a stop i always go to neutral, so I hear this sound constantly. I've read a lot of complaints about these trannys being noisy, so long as there's no damage being done, I don't care about noise. Just wanna make sure the transmission isn't going to die really.

Check out my post on my noise. I have the exact same problem from 1800-2200... Also, my 01GT has the thump I think it's just the 3650.

 

I too have a Mach 1 for about 7 or 8 weeks now. I haven't heard any sounds like you are describing.

 

Mach ones make noise. I have an '04 with 82.000mi. I posted a thread about my rear end noise back in june... the car makes all kinds of weird sounds and the driveline feels sloppy
