Just purchased/proud to own Mach 1

You'll hear not to bother with the CAI, but it is a common mod. I just bought the C&L also, because the silver intake pipe looks sweet under the hood. I got a set of black Bullitt wheels to run summer tires, and have all seasons on the stock rims, SVE lowering springs, new Koni shocks and struts, MRT louvers, new headlights, sequential tail lights, and rear bumper lettering. Here is mine:
I'm thinking about exhaust too. I'm pretty sure I want MRT catted H pipe and catback. Going to switch to 4.10 rear gears, and a dyno tune. Still up in the air on a short throw shifter.

Here's a tip for using a cleanable K&n style air filter.
There are thousands of guys who have screwed up their MAFs by over-oiling the filters. Buy a second filter (they come pre-oiled from the factory. When your original filter gets dirty, replace it with filter No. 2. Clean filter No.1 and oil it sparingly. You don't have to soak the filter or even make sure it is 100% covered with oil. Spray a light coating around the top end on the filter and stand the filter on it's fat end. Cover it with a plastic bag. Examine it a day later and you'll see that the oil has wicked onto every bit of the filter. If there are any unoiled spots, spray on a tiny bit more. (The oil is colored so it is easy to see if the filter is 100% covered.
Next, store the No. 1 filter in a plastic bag until it's time to clean filter No. 2. Replace No. 2 with your cleaned and oiled No. 1. This way, any excess oil on filter No. 1 will have run down off the element and you'll minimize your chances of oiling your MAF.

Thanks for the tips everyone. That's a nice looking car up there in Ohio. I hope you'll keep giving me advice even though I'm a Wolverine from U of M! I'm definitely starting to put together some plans for my Mach. Haven't had any trouble merging onto the freeway so far...

My car was higher mileage, so there were things I had to take care of, shocks, springs, headlights, etc. But with your low mile car, be thinking gears, exhaust, and a tune to start. I think you will enjoy your car the most with those mods first. Just MHO, of course.
