Has anyone done it & how hard are they to get out ?

R&R of exhaust manifolds on any 4.6 '96-'04 car is no fun. Unbolt motor mounts one at a time, jack the engine up a couple inches on whatever side you're working to gain clearance, and then be prepared to have lots of fun.

And then what can you coat them with that won't just go to **** the first time out when they heat up to 450°+?? I dunno. If going to all that trouble for mostly cosmetic reasons, I would just install some ceramic coated headers.

use some caliper paint, follow the directions. it's not going to look great, it's probably never going to be seen.
