I'd say yes if he lived closer, but that's a haul for a gear install.

Try Pro-tree performance, or Performance Dyno.

I know they both do gears, but I'm 99% sure Pro-tree guarantees NO whine after the install because of a special tool they use.

What part of NH you from?

NP. Let me know what they charge, because if they are reasonably priced I could see myself getting gears this summer.

I called them and the owner told me with new gears, pinion bearing and carrier bearings plus 5hours of labor and he does have the ford tool 650. Mine is totally stock and he suggested we put it on the dyno get a baseline and he would do a custom dyno tune using the sct .

If your's is totally stock a dyno tune isn't going to be much good for you, he's just trying to sell you something. Yes, you SHOULD get a tuner so you can reset your speedo for the gear swap, but a dyno tune is a bit excessive.

$650 seems high-ish, its like $200 in parts so another $450 in labor.

Try calling Pete at Performance Dyno and ask what he charges, and if he will guarantee no whine.
