Original Eleanor?

Original Eleanor?
I purchased a mustang in 2012 that was sitting on a flatbed wrecker. I found out that the plan was to remove items not allowed in the crusher. The crusher? I bought the car over the phone for $300.00. After having it delivered to my apartment parking lot (where I freshened it up) for the next 6months. The car is very high optioned and only had 42k miles. I recently heard that the original Fast and Furious movie was in 72? The original movie car was a 72 medium yellow gold fastback. Some say it was a Mach1 but no proof it was and no badges on the movie car. I heard that there was 2 cars. One for stunts and the other for close ups. The close up car had the front seats reupholstered to pretty it up. They know what happened to the stunt car but the other one is somewhere. In 72 there were 17 color choices. Only one choice was Medium Yellow Gold. My car is Medium Yellow gold. The front seats are unlike any I've ever seen or heard of even a fifty years Mustang part store owner has never seen seat covers like mine. A mustang judge said he had never seen seats like mine. The movie was filmed in California. My car was manufactured in Sacramento and eventually ended up in Arkansas where it is now. I've seen pictures and mine looks like it. My car has the original brakes, transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc. in a car that original why would you change the upholstery? Please help 479-313-2320 Steve

The movie you are referring to is "Gone in 60 Seconds", not Fast and Furious. As I recall, the movie was filmed in 72, but released later in 73, and the car (or cars) were cosmetically upgraded to appear as 1973 models. The most obvious diff between the 2 was the front turn signals on the grill. 72 had horizontal signals, and 73 had them in a vertical position. I don't know if they actually used a Mach 1 in the movie. The car in the movie did not have a ram air hood like what was typical in the Mach1 trim. And the paint scheme differs a bit from the stock paint job.
