Default Was Lapeer Dragway Repaved?

I haven't been there in over a year, but around the time when they had a fire I heard rumor that they were planning on repaving the surface and updating the timing equipment...for those who have been there in the last year, any truth to that?

It would be awesome if they did end up doing it...maybe it will help with more consistent track prep but I'm not holding my breath.

It would be great, but i'm not counting on it either. I mean the place has more dirt than pavement lol.

The lanes weren't repaved last year, but I haven't been by there to see if they did them this year after the season ended. They have a new tree since the fire, and although they have the scoreboards they don't put them up because all the street racers complained.

The scoreboards will not be a make it or break it deal anyway, but that's ridiculous. The ET & mph are announced after each pass IIRC, so even without seeing the information lit up on a board, anyone who wants to know just has to listen.

I went by there today after a client meeting further north. But I couldn't tell if the lanes were repaved - but they were clear, as was the return road. A lot of melting snow though in the pits so they will be muddier than usual this Saturday.
