Default 94 body 98 engine?

I have a 94 mustang with a blown motor so I pulled it out and swapped it with the engine from my old 98 mustang it all basically plugged n just the same besides I had to swap some plugs and then put it n time but now that I have it all back together I'm not getting spark from the number 4 spark plug and another spark plug is sparking erratically.

I changed the coil pack, spark plug wires, pcm

I'm not sure wat else to do...any help plz

Both cars are 3.8L V6 and I looked up n a manual that the 94s have the ecm where the 98s don't and its incorporated n the pcm. But I'm not sure wat to do....

If you still have the 98 . Pull the entire harness and swap it into the 94. that's my suggestion.

Your you could tear the 98 down to the heads , replace all of the 98 sensors and intake with the 94 stuff off the blown engine. put all the plugs back the way they were and go with the 94 computer .
Like I said im not real familiar with the v6 stuff but I cant imagine the block is all that different form a 94 3.8 to a 98 3.8.
The biggest difference will be the electronics.

Wish I knew more about engines to help. But maybe call the dealer to see what they recommend or a shop.

well im trying to figure out some things here.
Did you take the computer from the 98 and put it in the 94 , or did you get a new 94 computer?

You possibly got some wires mixed up when you were splicing plugs .
Auto manufacturers always use different color wires from year to year.
My best advice would be to find the factory service manuals for both years that show the wiring and computer pin outs.
Haynes manuals will not show all this information, but factory service manuals will have every nut, bolt , plug, wire, shown in diagrams. Including every plugs pin out and wire colors.

I cut the 98 harness and pulled the engine (harness attached) out along with the tranny bc its easy that way. then put the engine and tranny n the 94. then matched up the plugs and swapped them. n the process i had to swap the throttle body and camshaft sensor plug up and extend tge wire that ran over the tranny but all that went fine. then i put it all together and started it up. it was shaking badly then after a min. it stopped shaking and stalled. so i checked it out and found the dead spark plug my first guess was the coil pack so i switched it with the 94 engine still nothing then switched the spark plug wires and bought new spark plugs. nothing changed. looked n2 a manual and it saide ecm changed it nothing so i looked more into it and changed the pcm nothing still. so i put the old pcm and ecm back n. (The pcm and ecm were both from pic a part)
