I had a whole darn story typed up and somehow I lost it...


Hi all, I'm new to the mustang world, but not to the ford world.
Long story short, I picked up a cheap 2002 3.8 mustang and the motor went on it, so I'm trying to swap an 89 5.0 into it, stuck on the electrical portion.


What I have, 2002 3.8 auto harness, 89 5.0 manual harness. I have the auto trans from the 3.8 bolted up to the 5.0. The firewall plugs are different.
What recommendations would any of you have for wiring this beast in?
Would I be able to find the harness from an 89 5.0 auto and plug and play or am I looking to rewire everything? I really don't want to pay $600 for a "painless" harness if I don't have to.


Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
