Default 1968 Mustang Fastback (X code) 390

I am looking for some advice on rebuilding my 390 big block. I have am all original (x code) car but want to make it into a GT. I am shooting for 450 HP and 450 torque. what add ons or kits would you recommend? I would not mind doing a SMALL stoker but i do not want to go bigger then 427 cubic inches. I want to do it right the first time but not looking to spend the bank either. I want to put a 6 speed transmission behind it so any help there would be great too.

The stroker kits on the market seem to be really reasonable. I have not used them but the cost through Summit or Survival Motorsports seem to be much less then it would cost to obtain and refurbish OEM speed parts. I have always used vintage 427 stuff in my 428 Mustang. It is getting harder to find. I don't think you could go wrong with a 390 block, stroker kit and a pair of Edelbrock heads.
