Default Engine swap

I have an 01 manual v6 and a 97 F-150. The F-150 has a 4.6L Triton. Would an engine swap be possible? Would it take a lot to do it?

A lot? Yep. Money, previous fabrication knowledge, time, adequate workspace.......plus a fairly in-depth understanding of EFI principles and techniques.

That's rather vague. I have all of that. Cams, heads, bolt patterns, computers? What are we talking?

Hold on! If you have all the "vague" things I mentioned, what's stopping you? You asked about swapping an ENGINE for another........why would internal parts differences even make it into the considerations? Cams, heads, bolt patterns, all come with the replacement engine; yes, computers need be considered, then of course, harness wiring, electrical connectors which do not match, along with different wire color codings, transmission fit and choice, .......maybe I didn't understand the OP. I will go back and re-read it.
