Just for fun, and sorry if this has been brought up elsewhere, let's hear your guesses for HP/TQ rating from Ford on the upcoming Coyote 5.0 in the 2011 Mustang. It sounds like they may be introducing the engine coming in December although I don't know if they will throw out the HP/TQ figures. So have at it. Closest guess gets a prize*



I'll start it off with 400/400.

Im gonna throw a 375/370 out there.

 

I think it's gonna be a conservative 340-360hp.This is the same engine they're putting in the raptors along side the 6.2 that makes 400/400, so I doubt the power will be very close.

 

I'm less interested in the peak numbers. I want to see what the hp/torque curve on this new motor looks like.

 

I vote 400/380. I would love more torque than that, but I just don't think anything more is realistic given the displacement. You can't manufacture torque the same way you can HP.

I vote that IF the 5.0 makes it into the GT and not just a specialty model (Boss, Mach1, etc), it will be around 350hp.

 

I just want to know how much power it can handle. If its stronger than the 4.6 then we should be able to pull some very good numbers when modded.
