Default When is the 50th anniversary Mustang?

So if the 2004 Mustang was the 40th anniversary edition and the 2009 was the 45th anniversary edition why isn't the 2014 the 50th anniversary edition with the major overhaul?

2014 1/2 is the 50th Anniversary. With the way they release cars now days, it's will be the 2015 model released in April/May of 2014.

Does anyone know if the first Mustangs were titled as 1964's or 1965's? I've always heard them called 64 1/2's but the other anniversary editions would indicate they were 64's.

2004 retained the SN95 design, 2009 retained the original S197 design. Why would 2014 be any different? If you look at it from a business perspective, using 2014 for an anniversary production year and launching the redesign in 2015 would make sense and net Ford more profit. There are several other examples of this throughout the Mustang lineage.

I think they were titled 1965 model year, but then they added a few things to the next batch of '65 models such as reverse lights and a couple of other stuff and "unofficially" rebadged the originals as 1964 1/2 models. Or so I've heard. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Quote from Wikipedia:
The Ford Mustang was brought out five months before the normal start of the 1965 production year. The earliest versions are often referred to as 1964½ models, but VIN coded by Ford and titled as 1965 models[8] with production beginning in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964[9] and the new car was introduced to the public on April 17, 1964[10] at the New York World's Fair.[11]

Well, my car was sold to me as a 2007 even though I bought it Dec. 23, 2006 and it was made in Nov. 2006. Sooooo, that means the 1965 Mustangs were sold as a '65 Mustang even though they were made and introduced to the public in 1964.
I expect to see a redesigned 50th Anniversary 2015 Mustang on sale sometime next year.

The 50th anniversary would be more significant, than all the other so called anniversary models produced. Because 1965 is the first Model year by Ford VIN's, and 2015 is the stated new model, I think it's safe to say that Ford will more than likely release the 50th anniversary to coincide with the actual announcement of the 1965 model. I believe they will announce the 50th anniversary model at the New York auto show, in April 2014.
