Default 2020 Ford Mustang Mach E: Here's The Car, Price And 0-60 Times Before You're Supposed

Not everyone is keen on the idea of an electric Ford Mustang crossover, but the Mustang Mach-E is definitely happening anyway. If you’re one of the naysayers, maybe you’ll like it better when you see all the photos and specs—which you’re about to do.

Actually I think it is pretty cool. I would be interested in it if buying an electric car. My son has a Tesla 3 and it is amazing. It's solid, well built, decent range, great acceleration and handling. I imagine a car built buy a real car company that's been in business forever will likely bring a really decent product to market. The future is here whether we like it or not.

IMO does not look like a mustang. To me Ford will diminish the Mustang name by calling a 4 door SUV Mustang. Ford should use a different name.

This x1000!!!

Someone in another (Non mustang site) compared this move to what Porsche did with the Cayenne...i corrected them. Porsche created a new model for their SUV and now electric SUV, Cayenne. They didn't take the 911 series and make a bloated 911 with a stupid name like 911 GTR-E model.

Ford took the Mustang MACH name and threw it on a car that's not inspired, but a reworked Mustang....

Automakers keep using words like "generation" and "evolution" without any real sense of what it actually means for a car to truly "descend" from its previous incarnations. You have to maintain a lot of elements, some fundamental and some superficial, to uphold a vehicle's brand identity. This "Mustang Mach-E" just doesn't cut it. It's a completely different car that has no business bearing the Mustang name.

I was really hoping that Ford would see the light on this, like they did back when enthusiasts revolted against the notion of a FWD Mustang. The problem was never the car itself, but the name choice. Ford fixed it when they decided to keep building actual Mustangs and call the new car Probe instead. Like the Probe, this thing should have been given its own styling and the chance to make a name for itself. But I fear that it's too late now.

It's not just the dilution of the Mustang brand that I feel bad for. I actually feel bad for this SUV, which is probably really cool once you strip away all the Mustang stuff and judge it for what it is. Too bad it will never escape all the baggage of being associated with the Mustangs we've come to know and love. What a damn shame.

Ford, I guess will never learn. They tried this with the 4 door Thunderbird back in the 1960's and it bombed. They should of called it the Ford Mach E or another Escape.

Yeah, it really is an evolution of the Escape, but Ford can't label it as an excape because no one would pay $60,000 for an Escape, a crossover/suv that starts at $25,000. Could have revived the taurus-x, or even gone with Maverick. But mustang? I don't know of any Mustang owners that would buy it with that badge even though they might buy it if it were named differently. The qualification from here out is going to be what year mustang? (if 2020 or later) is it a real mustang or a fake one? We have no issues if they had given the electric treatment to the actual mustang body. But naming a four door suv as a Mustang makes no sense whatsoever.

I know a lot of people seem to hate it being called a Mustang. It reminds me more of the 70's when you could buy cars in multiple styles (Vega sedan, hatchback or wagon, etc) But I'm kind of interested in getting one as a daily driver. I could start really powering up my 13 GT and still have a "Mustang" that I could drive to work and haul some stuff.

I do like the model that has the faux front grill better though.
