sick del sol!
2000si, I am new to this forum but simply from looking through all the topics I have seen countless numbers of posts where you are defending rice (most of the time it is rice, only a matter of opinion though), none the less imports. I think you should just learn to let people have their opinions, no matter whether they bash on imports or not. This is a Mustang forum, a forum full of people who appreciate ALL kinds of cars (including myself), different makes, styles, etc., but you have to realize that the majority will probably end up being totally biased towards american muscle, and naturally against smaller engine imports. This seems to be the way of the world. You must be getting tired of sticking up for cars that are owned by total strangers (people that don't even talk on this forum) If I was you I would save my energy, and defend people that talked **** about MY car, or even fellow import lovers that at least are members of this forum. You know what I mean? I guess in short I'm just saying you might try ignoring people more often, even if they're totally dumb and uneducated... it may make life in this forum a tad easier.
P.S. this is totally objective, I have absolutely no problem with you, nor imports or 4 bangers (**** before my mustang I owned a 91 escort gt and I loved it)
Also, the holes in the bumper, how much weight could they possibly save? I wouldn't sacrifice looks for a mere 5/10 pounds of weight. (I could be off since I don't own a del sol)

I have not, and am not defending rice. Granted that car had some body modifications, but none the less I'll bet my paycheck that that car will run somewhere within the 12s.
A fast car is not rice. Therefore I am not defending rice. People are going to have their opinions whether I say anything or not, looks are completely subjective so I'm going to throw my two cents in whether THEY like it or not. It's not my problem they're so biased and closed minded that they can't even appreciate a car for what it is and what it can do.
If some of these guys like living in ignorance, I'm going to continue to enjoy throwing things like the fact that that car is faster than any of theirs back in their faces. It's like pooring salt into a fresh wound.

Hoestly when it died, I thought it was a FORD..........lol. J/K. I do respect that someone has the talent to build something that fast from something that slow, but on the other hand I do feel the talent could be used elsewhere.
