2003 Cobra
lol yea my dad does know the power of the cobra but he personally likes it too, its the price thats killing my hopes, (and my mom) so i guess the real question should be should i wait for the 2005 mustang gt or get the 2004 gt, i dont know if the wait is going to be worth it or not and i hope u guys have some info that can help me out
The 04 is a last model year run, 265 hp, many people have modified them and can give you much good advice, there are many hp products available. The 05 is a first model year run (new and unique problems), it is a 300 hp 3 valve 4.6 (new). There are no mod products available yet and the experience pool is very shallow (no one has tweaked them). It may be 6 months before the aftermarket companies are producing hp goodies OR it could be 6 days (who knows). On the other hand, it would be nice rolling down the street one of the first new mustang style owners! If it were me, and I had someone standing behind me with an open checkbook, I would get it now while the getting is good. Never know what financial obstacles could impede that checkbook next year. Food for thought...
you make a good point brian, never know lies ahead in the upcoming months, might as well get it now. just for curiousty sake, is the gt convertible coming out in september as well, or will it be later than that, jw. i'm asking because i'm probably going to get a gt convertible, and i just wanna see how it looks in 2005 and when it comes out
For the price of a brand-new GT convertible, you could easily get a slightly-used Cobra. I know you mentioned that your parents (and you?) are skeptical of buying used cars but you shouldn't write them off so quick. There are some really great used-car buys out there and if you just shop smart you can get a really good deal... As for the tranny you should definetally go for the manual, esp if you go for the Cobra.
ic what your sayin steuben, but i think my parents and i decided it would be best to get the gt convertible. for a couple of reasons, like hotrodman said 17 year old with a cobra = one dead due, i think thats kindof true. thats alot of power to have at 17. and then i always have liked convertibles so for the opportunity to get one, i dont wanna pass it up. i think in a few years from now when i'm making my money, and i save up enough, i will defintley buy the cobra, as for now i'll stick with the gt convertible. thanks for the help tho. and i just wanna ask about the 2005 gt convertible again...neone got details on it?
o and as for the manual part of it, i really want to get a manual cuz it seems cooler, but i never have drove a manual and i dont know how hard it is to learn. i mean i've had ppl teach it to me, but until you actually do it, you never know. should i still go with manual? even tho i live in a city where traffic is pretty bad most but not all of the times
